PRP is composed of living cells (platelets) which recreate tissue wherever they are injected. Platelet-rich plasma boosts the synthesis of collagen and elastin, which naturally diminishes with age.
Once injected, the platelets release growth factors which stimulate dermal cells (fibroblasts) and hair follicles in the scalp.
Indications
– Dull and lifeless skin, wrinkled as a result of sun exposure or smoking : the skin will be visibly fresher, more youthful, firmer and replumpled, with an improved texture.
– Loss of hair density or alopecia : ‘dormant’ hair follicles will be boosted, stimulating hair regrowth.
– Scars : scars will become less red and more ‘discreet’.
PRP may also be combined with PDO threads to stimulate more effective collagen synthesis.
Although the results of hyaluronic acid treatment are almost immediate, those of a PRP session will be visible 3 to 6 weeks after the procedure; the time required for the platelets to take effect.
The number of sessions varies depending on the condition of your skin. Generally, 2 to 3 sessions per month are necessary. Then, one consultation a year is recommended. For hair regrowth procedures, 1 session every 4 months over the course of a year is required, followed by one session yearly.
